The School Day
Our school gates open at approximately 8:35am each morning.
-
Reception and Key Stage 1 children are welcomed into their classrooms before the official start of the day. This allows a softer, calm start, time to settle, and an opportunity for parents to pass on any brief messages to staff.
-
Key Stage 2 children remain on the playground until 8:45am, when staff bring all children into school and the school day officially begins.
Until children are handed over to staff, they remain the responsibility of parents/carers. While we aim to open the gates promptly each morning, occasional short delays may happen. If you require guaranteed supervision before 8:45am, our wraparound care provision is available.
For safety reasons, children and adults should not walk through or on the grass at the side of the car park.
Children arriving after 8:45am will receive a late mark in the register.
The school day ends for Early Years and Key Stage 1 at 3.15pm and for Key Stage 2 at 3.20pm.
The total length of a school week is 32.5 hours for Early Years and Key Stage 1 and 32.9 hours for Key Stage 2.
Attendance
Our school attendance target is 96.4%.
This is a particularly high target and we will need everyone to support us in achieving this.
Note – if your child is ill on a school day, please contact the office by telephone as soon as possible.
