World Book Day - Thursday 4th March

The aim of our World Book Day celebrations this year will be to unite all learners (whether at home or school) through our shared passion of reading. We would like to offer the following activities:

-        Children at home and school can (if they choose) wear their pyjamas for the day. The purpose of this is to emphasise the importance of bedtime stories and the comfort that reading brings. Any child that has PE on the day can still wear their pyjamas with suitable footwear.

-        Children in school should bring in a book that they will enjoy reading at various points throughout the day.

-        The Masked Reader Competition: children at home and school can have a go at guessing who the mystery storytellers are! This will take place at various points throughout the day.

-        Additionally, those feeling particularly creative are welcome to contribute to our optional Story Jar activity . These will become part of a permanent display in our libraries. Story jars should capture the feeling of your favourite story. These can be brought into school at any time from Thursday 4th March, please see the examples below.
