Applying for Pre-School

The Governors of St Thomas of Canterbury School welcome applications for admission to the Pre-School for any child whose third birthday falls in the academic year before September 2018 and is for 3 and 4 year old children.

Our newly established purpose new build environment provides a stepping stone into developing key skills that will make children confident learners in preparation for starting school.   We value the importance of learning being exciting, new and innovative, creating opportunities for children that will inspire them to be lifelong learners.

Children are entitled to 15 hours of free early learning sessions per week or 30 hours per week depending on eligibility.  The school aims to offer an outstanding early years education for all of its children therefore the school offers three options for the Free Early Learning sessions.  This ensures that the children progress in their learning throughout the week and children are exceptionally well prepared when they start school the following year.    These are:

Five mornings 9:00am – 12:00pm

Mon & Tues 9:00am-3:00pm Weds 9:00am – 12:00 noon

Weds 12:00noon – 3:00pm Thurs & Fri 9:00am – 3:00pm

If you are eligible for the 30 hours your child can choose extra sessions or attend for a full week

Mon – Fri 9:00am – 3:00pm.

Children in the Pre-school will also be able to apply for a place in the school’s breakfast and after school club, which run from 7.30am (£4.25 for the am sessions and £8.00 for the pm session) until the start of the day and after school until 6.00pm.
